Winner of the Sundance award for 2013, and supported by many well respected actors and actresses in the movie industry, such as, Forrest Whittaker, to name just one.

Actor Michael B. Jordan plays Oscar Grant, the young man that was fatally shot after coming home from celebrating New Year’s Even in San Francisco with some friends. Link: http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/movies/2013/07/fruitvale_station_reviewed.html

It is a harrowing tale–well acted, and an eerie parallel to the Zimmerman trial.

Fruitvale Station is now playing in select theaters. Check your local listings.

It looks like a good movie. I wish that there would be more movies about the Black struggle.

I may seem like I am trolling but I love this blog. I find this blog very nicely organized and informative.

Thank you very much, Adeen. Tell your friends to stop by as well.

I keep it real over here.

And I promise you, I will not privilege whites or other non-blacks to the detriment of being fearful of telling the truth about what is really going on in this society–particularly as relates to Black people.

This is not a multicultural blog–and I don’t subscribe to the philosophy: “We’re all the same.” The hell we are.

Looks like a great movie, I saw an interview with the director he seems to have captured it nicely and even Oscar’s family gave their approval. Its sad that there are others with similar stories that have not received justice.http://www.theroot.com/multimedia/beyond-trayvon-black-and-unarmed

  4. The trailer looks petty good. I will have to check this film out. The film was released on July 12th the day before the Zimmerman verdict on the 13th. There are a lot of similarities between Oscar Grant and Trayvon–both being killed while they were unarmed. Hmmm……maybe it’s nothing. But I just thought it was a bit strange that it came out the day before. I just get this funny feeling the media wants certain things on our minds all at the same time. Almost like massive mind control. Just some food for thought.
