SWV: Before Destiny’s Child, There was…

These ladies right here who came at us with this unforgettable album: It’s About Time.   Back in 1992, I bumped this day and night. The songs all were a smash and truly ushered in the 90’s R & B era with a bang.

I’m posting the original album and the remix album.

Enjoy!

I love SWV. My favorite song by them is Weak. Their music is so nice and uplifting to women everywhere. Why don’t they make music like this anymore?

        Of course you’re being sarcastic.

And the record industry is really hurting from the lack of real talent from US.

There wouldn’t be a record industry if it weren’t for Black music, but hence, white folks convince or I should say…fool Black folks into believing they like what we do–then they SNATCH what we create–make money from it–then try to claim they invented it.

        Who’s the fool?

They steal it from us all the time. We are the originators. They’re just culture bandits! Makes me sick!!

But we allow it. When are Black people going to learn. WHEN???? My God! They are getting to the point where they don’t even try to hide that fact.

        But then again…WE ALLOW IT!

Yes. Some are. But thank God my eyes are wide open–and then…there is this blog.

God inspires what I write at times…the truth shall set us all free.

Do you remember that blog post I penned last summer, 10 Things White Women Married to Black Men Should Know? Well, for about 7 months, I have had about 4 crazy white chicks mad about that article who keep writing me all of these long-winded comments, trying to validate why they belong with Black men, yada…yada…yada…having the nerve to call me a racist, but never seeing that their over the top responses stem from their own innate racism–in response to the audacity of this Black woman to express her opinion. You gotta go back and read some of the comments.

        You’ll laugh.

Hey! Don’t bring that crap to my blog. I told them to go to Stormfront and proclaim their love for Black men.

        Ya think…*chuckle*

Girl Groups: There was Allure, Changing Faces, Kut Klose, Monifah, All Saints, Blaque, Divine, For Real, K.P. & Envyi, The Braxtons (laugh). Yeah, there were times when R & B just dominated the music industry–then came Hip Hop.

I loved listening to my stereo back then…
